RGE 2023
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size:16px">The General Business Census is carried out within the framework of the agreement signed between the Gabonese Government and the World Bank for the development of statistics, with the main concern of having up-to-date and reliable information for the migration of the Business System. National Accounting from 1993 to the National Accounting System of 2008, to have a national directory of businesses and a sampling frame for future economic surveys. The RGE targeted two types of economic entity which operate within a fixed premises, namely businesses and non-profit institutions. Data collection was done using the digital tablet from the questionnaire which was implemented in the “SURVEY SOLUTIONS” application developed by the World Bank. The field work lasted 6 months with two collection phases: a first phase of 4 months which concerned the Communes of Libreville, Owendo and Akanda (Estuary province); a second phase of 2 months which covered the nine provinces of Gabon. The RGE results summarized here first provide an overview of the number of establishments counted and eligible for the census. Then, they present the structure of the information collected from economic operators by level of aggregation and by type of entity (company; private non-profit institution).</span></p>
