VALIDATION WORKSHOP OF THE IMPLEMENTING TEXTS OF LAW N°016/2022 ON THE INSTITUTION AND ORGANIZATION OF THE NATIONAL STATISTICAL SYSTEM

The Directorate General of Statistics (DGS) is organizing from September 4 to 14, 2023 a workshop to validate the implementing texts of law n°016/2022 modifying and supplementing the provisions of law n°15/2014 of January 7, 2015 establishing and organizing the national statistical system The workshop brings together legal experts from sectoral ministries and institutions, notably those from the General Secretariat of the Government, the Council of State, as well as technical staff from the Ministry of the Economy, including those from the DGS. The work of the workshop aims to examine, correct and validate the collection of implementing texts of law n°016/2022 of September 6, 2022 necessary for the operational implementation of INSTAT GABON, proposed by a consultant recruited for this purpose. This broad participation aims for the inclusion and appropriation of the process of development and validation of said texts by the chain of institutional and technical actors. The collection in question must highlight all the decrees and orders which deal with the operationalization of the bodies created by the Statistics Law. During the course of the work of the said workshop, several interventions by the participants were recorded in order to make possible corrections which will be taken into account by the organizing team in order to have amended versions of the different texts at the end of the workshop. .
